Frequently Asked Questions
How many WiFi access points does my office need?
A general rule is one access point per 100–200 sqm of open-plan office space, or one per enclosed room with walls that block signal. High-density spaces (conference rooms, hotel lobbies) may need more. We provide a free AP placement design — share your floor plan and we'll map the optimal AP positions for your specific layout.
What is the difference between WiFi 6 and WiFi 7?
WiFi 6 (802.11ax) is the current enterprise standard — excellent performance for most UAE businesses. WiFi 7 (802.11be) adds Multi-Link Operation (MLO), connecting devices on 2.4GHz, 5GHz, and 6GHz simultaneously for ultra-low latency. WiFi 7 is ideal for video-heavy or latency-sensitive environments. For most offices, WiFi 6 is the right choice; WiFi 7 is worth considering for new hotel builds or high-end office fit-outs.
Can Huawei eKit APs work without a controller?
Yes — Huawei eKit APs support controller-free cloud management via iMaster NCE-Campus. You can also use a Huawei eKit Access Controller (AC) for on-premises management. For most SME deployments, cloud management is simpler and removes the need for a separate controller device.
Are Huawei eKit outdoor APs suitable for UAE outdoor environments?
Yes — Huawei eKit outdoor APs carry IP67 ratings, meaning they are dust-tight and protected against water immersion. They are designed to operate in temperatures up to 60°C, making them suitable for UAE outdoor environments including rooftops, poolside areas, port facilities, and construction sites.
